How to help kids working on their divisions?

My daughter is in 5th grade math, although she is only a 4th-grader. I found that she was not very good on division exercises. The basic problem is that she is TOO slow. I asked her how her math teacher taught her on division calculation. I was surprised to know that her teacher ask her to calculate every multiplication of possible single digit of quotient with divisor on a piece of paper to figure out the correct one. However, you don't need to write down these multiplications if you can do the single-digit multiplication in mind. So, to speed up her division calculation, I have to ask her to speed up single-digit multiplication first. The advice to you: if your kids need to improve their division or multiplication capability, send them to free math exercises website to work on more math exercises. Now, my daughter is very good on both division and multiplication. :-)

This is so awesome you have this blog available. This would have been a handy resource when I was growing up and being introduced to numbers. Whenever I do have children I will be sure to let them use the internet for help. (I'll try my best, but sometimes I may need to outsource the studying to the experts) :)
